I will have a competition for my residents to decorate ornaments for Valentine's Day expressing what "love" means to them. The winner will receive a $20 gift card. This addresses residents' wellness because they will reflect on the areas of social and emotional wellness when thinking about what love means to them. The friendly competition will exercise their interpersonal competence.
I cut out hearts for each student to hang on their doors. Other residents are able to then leave nice messages for one another.
Each mirror in the residence hall bathrooms were bordered with paper. All around the border were phrases to promote self love such as, "I love myself" and "I am important." Residents were encouraged to take sayings off of the mirror and keep them for themselves if they wanted to.
