Valentine's season is here and what better way to show that you care about someone than to give them a card expressing your feelings. This will give my residents the opportunity to show appreciation for one another. I will provide a heart-shaped piece of paper to my residents and they can write something positive about one or more persons in the hall. They will then give me their hearts, and on...
The weeks prior to Valentines day, I will have a box at the front desk that residents can submit valentine orders for other residents. This can be either anonymous or the name can be on it. I will be delivering them around the building on Valentine's day to share the love between residents.
Card making program for the resident's intentions. It could be for valentines day, or whatever else they want. They may send it to whomever else is on campus. Or provided postage in order to send their significant other or whomever else off campus a letter.
The bulletin board is Valentine's Day themed! There are various pick up lines posted for my residents to read. There are also pictures of very, very attractive men!

Students can make Valentine's card and crafts that reflect whichever sexual orientation they identify as. It presents an opportunity both for students who identify as LGBT to partake in this tradition, and it allows for students to become allies, and learn more about LGBT.

A passive program the week before Valentine's Day focusing on the similarities and differences on how different cultures view love. Residents will receive Valentine's Day goodie bags including information sheets, candy, and condoms.
Open to all sexes, genders, orientations, etc., this is a mixer to steer away from the conventional heteronormativity of Valentine's Day, into an all-inclusive event where people can mix and mingle and hopefully make connections!
I'll be posting some easy, yet solid pointers about dating covering topics such as expectations, settings, behaviors, nerves, etc. Maybe some residents will pick up some good advice for Valentine's Day and the dating season that ensues.
In celebration of Valentine's Day, I want to hold a "Secret Cupid" program much like a "Secret Santa" type program.

This event features a local flower shoppe called Send Your Love Florist that will allow students to support a local business and receive convenient options for Valentine's Day gifts. The event also will establish a co-vending relationship with a local business.
