A Hall meeting on welcome week where everyone introduced eachother and gave their name, major, and something weird about them selves. As we went around people were able to get to know the individuals that they will be living with for the next 33 weeks.

Watch the Bollywood movie [3 Idiots] with light refreshments. Have open discussion about topics brought up in the movie (ie. true friendship, seeking excellence/not "success", academic goals, the joy of learning, parental pressures, suicide, etc). Introducing several relevant resources available on campus as well (ie. CAPS, tutoring, etc). Students will bring their own plates.
Encouraging the house to take a trip together as a community down to the Harvest Festival to increase bonding and experience a great event.

Before everyone goes home for the holidays, I am going to put on a little party in the lounge that would have festive food from different traditions around the holidays. I will explain to them the background of each different food, and every student will have the opportunity to talk about what they do iver the holidays.

Cooking a Thanksgiving dinner for residents who can't go home for the holiday.
Each resident will have one hour to color their best. All drawings are the same, so it will be easier to judge. The winner will receive the movie How to Train Your Dragon!
We have a lot of girls from different cultures. Each girl will bring a food from their homeland for girls on our floor to sample. Everyone has signed up to participate so it should be pretty delicious.
Every resident that renews their lease will have the opportunity to order dinner from selected vendors and we will deliver the food to their doors.
