We will be having a multi-cultural pitch in dinner along with several festive activities from Around the World.
Mehndi Night
This is a co-curricular program between the Indian Student Organization and College Eight Programs Office. Together we are showing different aspect to Indian culture with Henna, a cultural plant used to dye skin, cultural food, and various dances, slideshows and mini-programs that address how diverse India is now. This is a continuing program between ISO and Programs.
Rosca de Reyes
Residents in the hall partake in the Mexican celebration known as "Rosca de Reyes." Throughout the program students are informed about this event while eating the food and drink involved.
African Shadows
A program that celebrates black history month through portrayals of spoken word. Both open mic, oral tradition, and poetry reading.
Tribal Fusion
Program put up for the Native American Heritage Month. This program was made possible with the joint efforts of the Office of Student Life, the Native American Center, and University Housing Services. 30 Days: Life on an Indian Reservation
Viewing of an episode of FX's show 30 Days where Morgan Spurlock (guy from Supersize Me) will leave America as he knows it, without ever actually leaving US soil. He will live with a people who many see as refugees in their own country, when he heads west to spend 30 days with the Native American Indians on the Navajo Nation.
Winter Wonderland
Winter Wonderland will serve as an educational program geared towards bringing awareness to the students of the different winter festivities that are celebrated around the world. Students will have the opportunity to build gingerbread houses, decorate sugar cookies, and play with non-toxic, biodegradable "snow." There will be apple cider, hot chocolate, and much more! International Potluck
Residents will enjoy a night of foods from different cultures along with social interaction. This will be a time for residents to connect with each other.
Cultural Appreciation Dinner
Pot-Luck! Bring your favorite dish from your culture. All office staff will be asked to bring a dish as well as the residents. Office staff brought dishes, one resident brought a dish. Residents swam and played pool.

Sharon Rocacorba will be coming to Encinitas residence hall with information and activities for the residents about culture and our cultural centers.
