Information Gathered

For visitors of our website, we log standard technical information such as the numerical internet protocol (IP) address of the computer you are using, the browser software you use, your operating system, and the internet address of the website from which you linked to the site.

We use persistent cookies on this site if you choose "remember me" while logging in. Additionally, we use persistent cookies while you are logged in so that the system can identify you between page views. Selecting "log out" removes this tracking ability. A mathematical equivalent of your password is stored on the server instead of your password - passwords used during login are compared to this mathematical equivalent.

The ProgDB retains the information that you submit to us, including the information you used to create an account.

Use of Information

The ProgDB uses the information that you provide in its role of facilitating program collaboration. We use this information to

  • Communicate to you through email newsletters and notifications unless you opt out.
  • Provide contact information (such as email and phone numbers) to team members which you have selected through group membership and collaboration.
  • Publish information about programs on calendars, event lists and pages.
  • Syndicate information in machine-readable formats for use by feed aggregators (such as an RSS reader) and on external sites (such as your university homepage).

We provide you with the means to control what information is part of your personal profile. We also identify which information is shared with group members when you edit your profile or program information. MaslowSchmaslow LLC employees view account and technical information to diagnose problems with our server and to administer the site.

If you provide information for publication, such as contributing a quote for the front page, we may use your name and link to your profile in order to provide you with credit.

Shared Information

MaslowSchmaslow LLC operates its servers through hosting providers, who may analyze traffic in order to maintain quality of service. The ProgDB provides links to a wide variety of third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of these websites.

From time to time, MaslowSchmaslow LLC may work with third-party consultants or other service providers who may have access to personally identifiable information. In such cases, we will restrict their use of personally identifiable information in accordance with their assigned tasks and subject to the limitations of this privacy policy. Third parties are prohibited from disclosing personally identifiable information.

The ProgDB currently uses Google to provide analytic reports on site traffic. Google gathers information in aggregate about which pages have been viewed. They do not have access to ProgDB account information. We recommend that you review the Google privacy policy.

We may also be required by law or litigation to disclose your personal information.

Because the application is designed to facilitate collaboration and sharing of programming information, finding the right balance between what to share and what to restrict remains an ongoing discussion with the community. MaslowSchmaslow’s privacy policy may change from time to time. All changes will be consistent with our goals. If any substantive changes are made, an updated privacy policy will appear on this page. By continuing to use ProgDB following such changes, you agree to be bound by such updated privacy policy.

ProgDB employs industry standard measures to protect the security of the information that is collected. Although we make efforts to store information securely, we cannot guarantee complete security.
